Aalu ka Paratha Introduction

To make Aalu ka Parath you need some basic and home made ingredients: fresh boiled potatoes, wheat flour, green chillies, green coriander, salt, some aromatic spices like coriander powder and red chilli powder. When all these are mixed with love to make a slightly crispy and soft paratha from inside, it becomes not just a food but a memorable experience.

Prepare the dough for Aalu ka Parantha

So before making Aalu ka Parath we have to prepare the dough of Paratha which is prepared from wheat flour.

We prepare it first so to prepare the dough, first of all take 1.5 cup flour in a vessel and we will use 1 cup water in it because we have prepared 1.5 cup flour. We have taken 1 cups

So after taking 1 cup of water, we will add water little by little and prepare a dough by mixing it well with our hands.

All of you have to keep in mind that the dough we have made should neither be too tight nor too smooth, if our dough is too tight then it will be hard to roll and if it becomes too soft then it will tear while rolling, no one tells this but it is important to know this while making the layer

So after applying the dough well, we will now cover it with a wet cloth and keep it for resting for 15 minutes so that our dough sets well and it becomes easy to make

So while our dough is setting, we prepare the potato stuffing which we put in the paratha, see below.

Make potato stuffing for paratha

So we have prepared the dough, now we will make its stuffing

So to make the stuffing, first of all we will take a bowl or you can take any utensil, bowl is not necessary, so after taking a bowl, we will take 3 big size potatoes which are boiled

So after taking the boiled potatoes, we will break them with our hands and make them small so that after adding the spices, it can be mixed well, it does not have to be completely mashed

So after breaking the potatoes, we will now add some spices one by one so that it tastes like a restaurant with a best flavour, so we will add spices like this

So we will chop 2 green chillies and add them, along with that we will also chop 1 inch ginger and add it, along with that we will add 1 medium size onion, adding onion makes our stuffing taste even better, you must also add onion and add green coriander

So after adding onion, we will add 1 teaspoon hot red chilli powder in it We will add 1 teaspoon coriander powder and 3/4 teaspoon dry mango powder to it, this will give it a sour taste, if you don’t like sourness then you can ignore it.

After adding dry mango powder, we will add salt according to taste. After adding salt, we will mix it well and mash it a little more so that it mixes well with the potatoes and the stuffing tastes good.

How to cook potato paratha

So now our stuffing is also ready. Now to cook it, first of all we will take the dough which was kept for resting for 15 minutes and cut it into pieces.

After cutting it into pieces, we will make a ball out of it. After making the ball, we will rotate it by keeping our two thumbs in the middle and give it a bowl-like shape so that we can fill the stuffing in it.

So after giving the dough a bowl-like shape, we will put the stuffing that we have made in it and close it from all sides.

After closing it, we will keep it on a stool and apply some flour on it and roll it well with the help of a rolling pin.

Now after rolling it, to cook it, we will heat a pan on the gas. After the pan gets heated a little, we will put the paratha that we have rolled in it and cook it a little from both sides.

After it gets cooked a little After that we will add some oil in it, if you don’t want to add oil then you can also use ghee in it, so after adding oil we will turn it on both sides and cook it till it turns golden in colour.

So after it turns golden we will take it out from the pan and keep it in a plate and serve it with some other dish.

So now our potato layer is ready which is full of taste and in restaurant style, you must try it at home once, you will definitely like this recipe.

Serving :

Put this potato paratha on a plate and cut  and put some sweetener and some chaat masala on it and serve it with a sweet chutney and a spicy chutney. It tastes very delicious with this.

• 3 large boiled potatoes
• 2 green chillies
• 1 inch ginger
• 1 large onion
• 1 tsp coriander leaves

• 1 tsp coriander powder
• 3/4 mango powder
• Salt to taste

Paratha making ingredients and serving

• 1 griddle
• Little oil (ghee)
• Little sweet chutney
• Little spicy chutney
