So first of all we have to make sure that how much quantity of Rajma we have taken

We are taking 2 cups of Rajma. You have to add double the amount of water to the Rajma you take so that our Rajma gets immersed in water properly and boils properly.

So we will put 2 cups of Rajma in a pressure cooker and we will add double the amount of water than the Rajma we have taken i.e. we will put 4 cups of water in the cooker and we will also add some salt in it so that the Rajma does not take time to boil.

Now we will put this cooker on the gas and let it whistle 4 times so that our Rajma gets boiled in the right quantity, neither more nor less, but our Rajma is not ready with only this many whistles, we still need 1 more whistle.

Now 4 whistles have been blown, so we will turn off the gas and take the cooker off and remove the gas from the cooker and open the lid of the cooker and take out the Rajma.

Now we have to let it whistle one more. If you make it in a pressure cooker then you will have to add 1 more whistle, otherwise if you make it in a pan then cook it for 10 minutes by adding water along with spices so that the rajma is cooked properly and does not get over cooked and does not remain raw.

So for cooking rajma we need 4 or 5 whistles, it depends on the quantity of your ingredients, if you want to cook 2 to 5 cups or 200 grams to 750 grams of rajma then you need 4 to 5 whistles, if you want to cook more than that then you may need 5 to 6 or 6 whistles also.

So you can add whistles according to the quantity, otherwise if you want to cook 2 cups to 5 cups or 250 grams to 750 grams of rajma then 4 to 5 whistles are enough for that. Do not whistle more than that, otherwise the rajma may get mushy
