How To Make Matar Paneer recipe is a popular North Indian dish of paneer or paneer matar cooked in a   spicy  and tasty curry.

So Let's See Step By Step How Matar Paneer Recipe Is Made

First of all, we will put a pan on the gas and add 2 teaspoons of oil in it. If you do not want to add oil, you can add butter as well.

When the oil gets heated, we will add 200 grams of paneer chopped into chunks and fry it.

Paneer is fried so that it does not lose its shape. If we add paneer without frying it, there is a fear of it breaking. That is why we fry paneer

When some paneer gets fried, we will take it out in a bowl and keep it aside. Now we prepare to make its gravy.
Again, we will put a pan on the gas and add 2 teaspoons of oil in it. You can also add butter. Now we will chop 2 medium-sized onions and add 10 cloves of garlic and a 2-inch piece of ginger and fry all this for 5 minutes. Keep the flame of the gas on medium high.
After frying for 5 minutes, turn off the gas and take the pan out. We will take the roasted onion, garlic and ginger masala and keep it aside for 3 minutes to cool down. Now the masala has cooled down and we will put it in a mixer and make a paste.
Now our paste is ready. Now we will again put a pan on the gas and add 2 spoons of refined oil to it. You can also add butter in place of oil. Now our oil has become hot.
Now we will add 2 bay leaves and 1 dry red chilli and black cardamom to it. We will add 1 teaspoon cumin seeds to it and mix everything.
Again, now we add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1.25 tsp Kashmiri red chilli colour, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 cumin powder and 1/2 tsp garam masala powder and fry them all together for 1 minute.
After frying for 1 minute, we will add the onion, garlic and ginger paste that we had made and mix it well and cover it and cook for 5-7 minutes. If you are making it in more quantity, then cook it for more time so that the masala does not remain raw.
Now after 5-7 minutes, we remove the lid of the pan and check whether our masala is cooked or not. If not, then our masala is completely cooked. Cooking means that it starts leaving oil from the side, then you will know that the masala is cooked

So now we add 1/3 We will add 1 tsp tomato puree. We are using puree bought from the market. If you do not like tomato puree bought from the market, then you can make puree by putting 2 medium sized tomatoes in the mixer at home.

Now add tomato puree to the spices, mix it and close the lid of the pan and cook for 5 minutes so that our tomatoes get cooked well and the raw taste of tomatoes does not come.

After cooking for 5 minutes, we will remove the lid of the pan and see that our puree has cooked well with the spices.

Now add 1 cup water to it and also add 1/2 cup Safal peas. I have used Safal peas. You can also use fresh peas bought from the market. Now add salt as per taste and cook.

We have to cook it till it boils completely so that the peas become soft. Keep the flame of the gas on medium. When the gravy comes to a boil, it will boil well. If it comes out then we will cook it in

Now add the paneer which we had fried and cover the lid of the pan and cook for 10 minutes so that our paneer mixes well with the gravy and consumes the full flavour of the gravy

Now 10 minutes have passed, we check our matar paneer recipe to see how our matar paneer recipe is prepared, then we remove the lid of the pan, our matar paneer is ready and the gravy is also not too thick, if your gravy becomes too thick then add 1/2 cup water and cook for 2 minutes
